Motor Vehicle Record/Driving History

AmericanChecked electronically accesses all 50 states’ Department of Motor Vehicles (DMVs). This search provides the following details as reported by the applicable state’s DMV:

• License Validity
• License Type (including special license verifications)
• Vehicle Violations
• License Restrictions
• Suspensions and Revocations
• Accidents and Convictions (Convictions may also appear on criminal reports in addition to or instead of MVR reports)
• Serious infractions such as DUI, driving while suspended, reckless driving, open container and no driver license (some of this data may also appear in criminal felony and misdemeanor verifications).

The MVR search is based on the name shown on the driver license, state that issued the license and driver license number. AmericanChecked will supply all information returned in the Motor Vehicle Report search that we are legally allowed to provide. Data is typically reflective of three years of driving history. We also offer International Motor Vehicle Record/Driving History reports. Turnaround time varies by country.

Commercial Driver’s License Information System (CDLIS)

States store information about drivers holding a commercial license from their state in this central file. CDLIS enables the exchange of commercial driver information between jurisdictions and assists in upholding the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act (CMVSA) of 1986. Nationally, each commercial driver should have only one driver license and one record. CDLIS verifies the driver’s current CDL as well as disclosing the existence of up to three previously held licenses per requirements of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Act (FMCSA).

AmericanChecked provides access to the government’s national database that contains driver inspection and crash records. The database is populated by FMSCA’s Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS). The MCMIS is comprised of driver performance data including roadside inspection and compliance review results, enforcement data, state-reported crashes and motor carrier census data.
